Much of Melissa’s narrative is told through collaborations, and these ‘Papette’ sandals were produced in creative combination with the Brazilian footwear brand, Rider. In line with the ‘Ugly Shoe’ trend, these sandals combine wide straps with a thick sole. Blending colours and textures, the straps mix khaki webbing, clear PVC and black triangular links. Tonally, the webbed straps are matched with the insole, which tells the story of the collab. The debossed surface lays the logos side by side to create an exclusive signature. Clear PVC also features in the outsole, revealing the teardrop tread beneath. Secured with a simple Velcro closure, this practical design is informed by fashion. Upper: PVC/Textile. Sole: PVC.
